An antique pine trunk dating to the 19th century. It is of solid pine construction with a hinged lid and a simple, utilitarian form. The trunk retains its original internal candle box. The surface has a warm, mellow tone and shows the grain of the pine clearly. It has been cleaned and recently refinished, then finished with a coat of natural wax.
Condition
The trunk is in good overall antique condition with age-appropriate wear. There are marks, knocks, and surface wear throughout, as expected. The interior is clean and usable, and the candle box remains intact. The hinges are secure, and the lid opens and closes as it should.
