About Us

Welsh Chapel Antiques can be found at the top of the Tawe Valley — a landscape known for its limestone hills, wooded slopes, and the Tawe river winding through the valley below.

The chapel was built through collective effort in the 19th century — its stone carried from the riverbed to lay the foundations, its future entrusted to a small congregation of working people. For over 150 years, it served as a place of worship, learning, and community — expanded, repaired, and carefully maintained by those who gathered here.

Today, the building has a quieter role, but its sense of purpose remains. From the chapel, we restore and offer antique furniture that reflects the craftsmanship and integrity of past generations. Each piece is selected for its honest character, enduring quality, and the way it might sit comfortably in both old and new settings.

Welsh Chapel Antiques is shaped by the same spirit that built this place — care, resourcefulness, and a respect for things made to last.

The chapel still opens its doors for community lunches, carol services, and other local gatherings — a small part of village life, quietly continuing.
