A handsome and small-proportioned early 20th-century American writing chest in solid oak, ideal as a useful bedside chest or compact hall piece. Designed in the Jacobean Revival style, it combines the practicality of a four-drawer chest with the versatility of a hinged folding top, which opens out to form a generous writing surface.
The chest displays classic 17th-century English design cues reimagined for the Colonial Revival era: panelled sides, carved rope-twist front stiles, and squat bun feet. Retaining its original brass batwing handles and a rich warm oak colour, this is a characterful and highly usable piece that functions beautifully as a small writing desk, bedside chest or bedroom storage.
