A lovely Arts & Crafts oak writing table, also well-suited as a dressing table or console. The table stands on tapering legs with pad feet and has a single frieze drawer with its original cast metal handles. The top is fitted with a green leather writing surface with gilt tooling. Compact in size, it would work well in a study, hallway, or bedroom.
Condition Report
The table is in good, solid condition with a warm oak colour. The front left leg bows gently backwards, part of the original characterful construction. There are signs of very minor historic woodworm to the underside of the drawer and a few small holes to two legs, but these are barely noticeable and have long since gone, treated as a precaution. The leather top has been replaced historically and shows marks, indentations, and some fading of the gilding, all consistent with age and use.
