A rustic antique pine kitchen table, acquired from a South Wales country house, where it had been used as a scullery table. A simple, well-made piece with plenty of character, shaped by years of everyday use.
The table stands on tapered legs and features a plank top, which has developed a warm, time-worn tone through use. There is a later drawer fitted to one side. The painted base sits comfortably against the mellow pine top, which shows the expected knocks, marks and wear consistent with age and use. Comfortably seating six people, it would make an excellent kitchen or farmhouse table — practical, honest and full of character.
Condition Report
The table shows evidence of historic woodworm throughout, which has been treated. There are signs of historic repairs, including a later replacement drawer fitted to one side. The painted base has scratches, knocks and areas of wear consistent with age and use. The table has been strengthened from below with later braces. The legs can be removed for ease of transport and are secured with screws to the underside. Overall, the table is solid, stable and sound.
