A charming early George III oak lowboy of mid-18th century date, English provincial in origin. The well-figured two-plank top sits above three drawers — one long over two short — each fitted with period-style brass backplates and drop handles. The shaped apron is centred by a pierced fan motif, a decorative touch characteristic of the period. Raised on square-section legs, the piece balances the restrained elegance of Georgian design with the honest simplicity of rural craftsmanship.

Condition:
In good condition, with historic wear and surface marks consistent with age and use. The piece is structurally sound and stable. There is a historic repair to the central apron, visible but not distracting. Handles appear to be appropriate period replacements. Rich, warm patina throughout. Overall a handsome piece, solid and sound.
