A handsome antique French farmhouse table in fruitwood, dating from the late 19th century.
Of narrow proportions, the table seats six comfortably and has a beautifully worn three-plank top with rich colour and grain. Raised on well-turned legs with later height blocks sympathetically added, the piece has great presence and practicality. A lovely example of rural French furniture with an appealingly honest, utilitarian character.
Condition:
In good, usable condition overall. The top has wear, marks, and a historic knot with a slight rise — all consistent with age and use. Later blocks have been added to the feet to raise the height; these are well-executed and suit the table. Structurally sound and displays well.
